AboutThe Idaho Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) is one of more than 250 affiliates of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) throughout the United States, its territories, and Canada. We share ideas and concerns regarding mathematics education — with each other, with the Department of Education, with NCTM, and with educators around the nation. |
OUR MISSIONTo be a voice for quality mathematics education in Idaho, empowering teachers and promoting student achievement. | OUR VISIONTo support and nurture Idaho educators through networking, collaboration, and connections to the community. |
We assist in professional development through the annual STEM Conference and the seasonal newsletter, as well as mathematics education scholarships (ICTM offers scholarships of financial assistance to Idaho teachers to attend mathematics conferences or to take mathematics courses), and poster sets (ICTM has developed several sets of posters designed for bulletin boards and/or classroom activities). Our ultimate goal is the help students achieve — to learn, to love, and to use mathematics — through using our collective voice and through empowering teachers. Interested in joining us? Strategic Plan | Key highlights of the plan |
Our 2024-2027 strategic plan, developed and approved by the members of our board, delineates how we will approach future ICTM endeavors. We will always prioritize our mission, vision, and values while working towards the outlined goals and objectives. We assess needs on the basis of thorough surveys and comprehensive response analysis that will inform future decisions. In addition to the feedback gathered from surveys, we track membership and participation metrics to measure success. |
